Taking part in the Terry Fox Run has been a long standing tradition as his story is etched in our hearts and is memorialized every year as an integral part of the school curriculum. Fox represents a true to heart Canadian who believed in humanity, kindness, compassion and generosity. This is why still to this day, we run.
it comes to no surprise that the students in our community did a fine job in 2017 when they ran to remember. Between the elementary schools and the high school, the students raised $1,453.55.
These statistics are provided by the Terry Fox Foundation:
Each school has the choice as to whether or not they participate. While some years, some schools may have an overload on the agenda and can’t make it fit into the schedule without disrupting the routine, Revelstoke has been taking part in the Terry Fox Run for years. According to the runs to date, students have been apart of 59 runs in total combination with Arrow Heights hitting 20 runs.
With a wide variety of extra curricular activities, sports, family obligations, the teachers and students still continue with a long standing tradition since the Terry Fox Foundation was created. Kudos and congratulations to all the students who took part in keeping a legacy of a true Canadian alive.
