The Revelstoke Current has had several messages that Selkirk Medical is closed due to a gas leak. The building did have a gas leak, however according to Dwayne Voykin from the Revelstoke Fire and Rescue Service, it was an issue that Fortis was taking care of.
The Current tried to reach the office, however there was no response. It is un-known if it will be reopened today.
For those that need to see a doctor for a non emergency situation Revy Medical is in operation.
Meghan Porath, Operations Manager of Mountain View (The old school) stated in an email “Mountain View Medical Centre (revymedical.com) can do anything to support patients, we will. More so, if doctors in Selkirk have a long term challenge due to the gas leak, we would be happy to assist some of the doctors with clinical space.”
