After a courageous battle with cancer, Karen is at peace. She is survived by her mother Anne of Revelstoke, father Jim and step mother Donna, 3 sisters Jen, Tara and Shannon along with their families, all in Eastern Canada, as well as family and friends all over the globe.
Karen loved her sisters and was very proud of them and their accomplishments. She was especially excited when the nieces and nephews started to arrive!
Karen was the most loyal and devoted friend you could ask for, easily making friends wherever she went. She was a friend to everyone and didn’t distinguish between who was ‘cool’ or wasn’t. She had a wide range of friends because her interests were so diverse. She loved live music, heavy metal, dancing, camping, the outdoors, birds, all animals, flowers, gardening and knitting. Her home was cozy and never without a couple furry friends.
She had a courage many of us could aspire to, never complaining about her health battles and meeting each one head on. She had a straight forward, no shit approach to life and it’s struggles that was admirable. Her dry humour and quick wit will be remembered and missed by everyone that knew her.
A Celebration of Karen’s life will be held in Revelstoke on January 14, 1-4 pm at the Big Eddy Pub.
