8 months ago one local family was given news that nobody wants to hear. That the mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since the moment of diagnosis their lives have become a whirlwind riddled with a nerve-racking fear of the worst outcome.
The young woman has requested to keep her name private, as she is trying to keep a steady hand and a regular daily routine for her two young sons. This long time resident of Revelstoke, along with her supportive husband, are going day by day and trying to stay positive in a time of angst.
The last 8 months of treatment have been daunting for the young couple, and with the holidays upon us, this time of year can be extremely emotional, especially when the only gift you want is to have your health back.
Their friends and family have teamed up with The Village Idiot Restaurant and will be hosting a fundraiser tomorrow- Sunday, December 10th, 11:00am – 4:00pm.
There will be a family friendly pizza buffet and a silent auction with some amazing items. All the proceeds raised will go towards easing the financial burden the family has endured over the past several month. Many of the local businesses in Revelstoke stepped up to donate items in order to make it a vibrant silent auction.
