Radio documentary: What is it like to be a woman today?

I recently posed the question to several locals ‘What does it mean to be a man today?” I personally, have an opinion on that. It makes sense, I am a member of that particular gender.

What about Mom? Nan? Grandma? Oma? Aunt? Sister? Wife? Partner? Friend?

I was told in school there were no such things as dumb questions. If you don’t know; ask! So I pose the question. What does it mean to be a woman today? Here is what I learned.

What was interesting is that the very same question was asked. What answers I received were from a much deeper and heartfelt place. More time, thought and consideration was taken (in my opinion) as several of the women were thinking for all women and the men were ready to answer the question as if it were facts that they had the answer too. The ladies were far more philosophical and waited to answer.

It was easier to find men to interview with that question and get an answer right then and there, but the ladies wanted time to think. Some answered on the spot and were happy too, but the overall consensus, at least for me, was the amount of thought that went into the answer.

The consideration to other women was very much obvious in this fun little sneak peek. It taught me a little bit more about what’s happening with the women we love and cherish and also it helped me learn more about what it means to be a man.
