TCH crash sends a man to Kamloops in serious condition

On Wednesday May 10, at approximately 1:25 pm, Revelstoke Volunteer Fire Department, Emergency Health Services, South East District Traffic Services and Revelstoke RCMP responded to a single motor vehicle crash, five kilometrs East of town on the Trans-Canada Highway.

“A witness who was following a Dodge Caravan from Alberta, observed the driver lose control, causing the vehicle to hit the ditch and subsequently roll-over,” said Cpl. Thomas Blakney. “The driver, a 26- year-old male from Alberta was airlifted to Kamloops’ Royal Inland Hospital in serious condition.”

Revelstoke RCMP are currently still investigating the cause of this crash. The TCH was closed for approximately 20 minutes.

Blakney said the local RCMP detachment recently learned that a seven-month-old black Mastiff dog, wearing a red collar, who goes by the name of ‘Dierdre’ would have been in the car at the time of the crash. It is believed that the dog kennel opened and Dierdre ran from the vehicle.

A search of the area continues, but so far Dierdre has not been located. If you happen to locate this friendly dog you are asked to please contact the Revelstoke RCMP at 250-837-5255.
