1938 – 2017

Rosalyne Katherine Nelles passed away peacefully in Kelowna General Hospital on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the age of 78 years. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Revelstoke on Wednesday, May 24, with Father Aaron de Dios celebrant. Honorary Pallbearers were: Yvonne Blake, Rosemarie Davies, Sheila Geidt, Ollie Jones, Jean Drouin, Marlene Scarcelli, Donna Nelles, Moira Aspden and Karen D’Adamo. Interment of Rosalyne’s cremated remains took place in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke.

Rosalyne was born in Revelstoke, BC, on November 24, 1938, and had been a life-long resident. She was the proud owner/operator of Nelles Ranch, the first Bed & Breakfast in Revelstoke – a career she loved and where she met and became friends with people from all over the world. Rosalyne loved to play the slots and was an accomplished slot machine technician. She also enjoyed shopping, especially for her grandchildren and they were the recipients of many beautiful gifts. Rosalyne enjoyed baseball and was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan. She also enjoyed basketball and hockey. Rosalyne’s passion was travelling and she loved her trips to Arizona and Vegas. She loved to dance and sing and her laugher was infectious.

Rosalyne was predeceased by her parents, Jennie & Louie Bafaro. She is survived by two children: Doug (Tamaralea) Nelles of Revelstoke and Shelley (Stuart) Klassen of Saltair; 9 grandchildren: Keysha Jackson (Andrew Beare) of Revelstoke, Christian (Kimberley) Fransen of Victoria, Elijah Fransen of Cobble Hill, Jeremy (Hillary) Gibson of Calgary, Rachel Gibson of Revelstoke, Crosley (Marissa) Klassen of Ladysmith, Taylor Klassen (John Babak) of Revelstoke and Kristin (Jason) Buckler of Sorrento; six great grandchildren: Ryder, Phoenix, Nevaeh, Cruz, Aaliya, Karter, Phoenix and Lincoln; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and good friends.
