Revelstoke hosts the Bantam Tier 4 Provincial Championships starting on Monday

Revelstoke’s Bantam hockey team will skate on home ice against opponents from Whistler, Mission, Clearwater, Creston Valley, Vanderhoof for the BC Hockey Bantam Tier 4 Provincial Championships starting on Monday, March 20.

The four-day event starts on Monday with an opening game between Mission and Revelstoke starting at 10:30 am at the Forum.

The official opening ceremonies will begin at 6:45 pm with all teams present. Mayor Mark McKee will welcome everyone to Revelstoke and Aza Deschamps will sing O Canada while former NHL left-winger Aaron Volpatti perform the ceremonial puck drop.

Alexandra Farrugia of the Revelstoke Bantam Team Provincial Organizing Committee said everyone is looking forward to the series — the first provincial championship held in Revelstoke since 2009.

“They’re probably all strong teams so we’ll see some excellent hockey,” she said.
