1955 — 2017

Linda Meagan Walford passed away peacefully, with her family at her side on Monday, March 20th, 2017 at the Palliative Care Unit of Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke. A Memorial Service will be held at the Revelstoke Community Centre on Saturday afternoon, May 27th, 2017, at 1 pm with Gary Sulz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Revelstoke Quilters Guild, Revelstoke Humane Society, Box 340, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, Southern Interior Rotary Lodge (for cancer patients), 2251 Abbott Street, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 1E2, Revelstoke Hospice Society, Box 3133, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0 or the Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care through the Revelstoke District Health Foundation, Box 2421, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Linda.

Linda was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, on August 16, 1955 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1980. She was active in the quilting guild, was a past president, and made many well-loved and treasured quilts for family and friends. Linda was also involved with cross-country skiing, Weight Watchers and the PAC at Mountain View School. She was an avid Sheltie owner and proud of all her furry babies.

Linda was predeceased by her mother Marguerite. She is survived by her husband James of Revelstoke; three children: Kaity of Revelstoke, Jonathan of Kelowna and Meagan (Alex Gagne) of Fonthill, Ontario; her beloved grandson Carson of Revelstoke; one brother Larry (Paula) Bernard of Nanaimo; her father Andrew Bernard of Moncton; sisters-in-law June Brogden of Olds, Alberta and Nina (Richard) Thompson of Chilliwack and nephew Cole Brodgen and niece Amanda Brodgen (Cody) and their three children of Olds, Alberta. Linda is also survived by her Sheltie dogs Ocean and Magic and her cats Esme and Chyna, as well as many good friends.

Linda’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Mt. Cartier Court for their dedicated and wonderful care over the last few months.
