Mounties recover two stolen sleds

On Monday January 30 the Revelstoke RCMP received a report that a yellow 2015 Ski-Doo Summit was stolen out of the back of a pickup truck at the Revelstoke Mountain Resort. Police obtained video surveillance from the area and were actively investigating the theft to identify the suspect vehicle and those person(s) responsible for the theft.

“On Tuesday March 14, the Revelstoke RCMP received information that a yellow 2015 Ski Doo Summit matching the original stolen snowmachine’s description, was brought into a local business for service.,” Cpl. Mike Esson said in a statement. “The RCMP acted on the available information and subsequently located the suspect truck and trailer. The stolen sled was recovered. One adult male suspect was arrested and he is charged with theft. A second stolen snowmachine was also recovered on his rural property and he is being charged with another offence, possession of stolen property.”

The snowmachine has been returned to its owner.

“Revelstoke RCMP would like to thank the community for their support and the tips that were received throughout the investigation, resulting in the successful recovery of the stolen property,” Esson said in the statement.
