Parks Canada and ParticipACTION are sponsoring a Sunlight Snowshoe event in Mount Revelstoke National Park on Saturday, March 11.
Grab your cameras for a fun day out of the office or newsroom to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation in truly Canadian style and experience the outdoors in your backyard.
The event takes place from noon to 4 pm at the Nels Nelson Chalet and on surrounding trails in the park. Here is a bit more of a description:
A dstatement from Parks Canada and ParticipACTION said participants can share their Mount Revelstoke snowshoeing experience on Twitter or Facebook for the #ParksChallenge.
“Sign up at participaction.com/150 to get started on the ParticipACTION challenge and track your way to cool prizes,” it said. “Try as many of the activities on their 150 Play List as you can to get moving more, sitting less, and for a chance to win.”
The ParticipACTION trailer will be on-site for the Sunlight Snowshoe, and there will be snacks and music by the fire at the Nels Nelsen Chalet. You might even be able to check off some other activities from the list such as snowman building or snowball fights. The event runs from 12 to 4 pm with live entertainment by Maggie Davis from 1 – 2 pm.
Snowshoes will be available (but in limited numbers) for the event
