Council approves one vacation rental and defers another

By David F. Rooney

Council held two public hearings on vacation rentals (VRs) on Tuesday, February 28. It deferred an application for a two-bedroom secondary suite at 306 Downie Street and approved a whole-home vacation rental at 1103 Cottonwood Street.

Council has heard many applications since September. Most have been for full-house VRs. However, some are for one- or two-bedroom VRs and Council has been deferring decisions on those until a later date, when it can stage new public hearings that deal with those applications only.
