Revelstoke Minor Hockey’s Novice division is currently hosting a weekend tournament that has attracted seven teams from Sicamous, Salmon Arm, Vernon, Kamloops, and Canmore. Tournaments like these are used to raise much needed funds to keep the not-for-profit community hockey organizations functioning and healthy.

If you can make it down on Sunday, these little players would be forever grateful for any support or contributions you can make, even if it is just cheering loudly from the stands. Admission is free. The Revelstoke Icebreakers’s games are at 9:20 am and 3:10 pm. There are great raffle prize draws, as well as the best fries in town at the concession stand.

The Novice division organizers decided to make the weekend event one without an overall tournament winner, one where each team plays twice on each day. Revelstoke has so far won two out of two games played on Saturday to the tune of 12-0 and 16-1 respectively.

In Revelstoke’s first game against the Canmore Eagles, #31 Goalie Parker Degerness earned the MVP award while #16 Phoenix Portras took away the Hustle Award with two goals and one assist.
