It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandma, Rose Lund on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Mount Cartier Court in Revelstoke. Rose was born in Aneroid, Saskatchewan, on October 24, 1926. Rose served in both the Air Force and Navy. The family moved to Canoe, BC, where she worked in the packing plant and loved to pick strawberries for people. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Norman Lund. They joined hands in marriage on June 6, 1946, in Canoe, B.C. They moved to Revelstoke in 1950. Rose was a stay-at-home mom. She loved running in her earlier days. She enjoyed doing crosswords, embroidery, rug hooking and drawing. Rose enjoyed spending time with her family, and she considered herself lucky with most of her children and grandchildren living in Revelstoke.
Rose is survived by her loving family – daughter Rose Lund; daughter Joy Cwikula (Walter) and their children, Darren Bezanson (Teresa), Mark Bezanson, Donna Gator (Dave), Bryan Johnson (Carmen) and their daughter Larissa, Bob Cwikula, Kerry Cwikula, Chris Cwikula & Ben Cwikula (Christy); son Norm Lund (Jennie) and their children Jeff (Megan) and children Ava and Lincoln, Sandi Speidel (Herb) and their children Hannah and Haley; son Bob Lund; sister Edith Singer (David) and their children Tim (Patti), Danny, Bill (Lisa) Kayden and Jordan; nephew Roger Laurilla (Loree), many other nieces and nephews and very close dear friend Nancy Webber. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Alice and Kay and her beloved husband Norman (2003).
The family would like to extend thanks to the many wonderful care givers (too many to mention) at Mount Cartier Court. No words can express our deep gratitude and thanks. You are the best. Also special thanks to Dr. MacDonald and the nurses for the care given to our mom.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home in Revelstoke. Many thanks to Gary and Chrissie Sulz for their caring and concern. There will be no formal service at Rose’s own request.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the BC Cancer Agency, Mount Cartier Court, c/o Bag 5000, Revelstoke, BC, V0E 2S0, or the charity of your choice.
Thank you to all who have brought food, flowers and paid their respects.
“She is pain free and at peace now.”
