Vancouver-based Pacific Coastal airline flew into Revelstoke on Thursday to provide some of their staff with a familiarization tour. They were met by representatives of Everything Revelstoke, Revelstoke Mountain Resort and Black Tie as well as a Community Economic Development Director Alan Mason, CSRD Area B Director Loni Parker, and a gaggle of news photographers.

Pacific Coastal, which operates regularly scheduled flights to many Interior BC towns, is exploring the Revelstoke market by launching a chartered air service that will operate here from January 26 to March 19 at a cost of $249 a ticket. Angela Mowbray, Everything Revelstoke’s chief operations officer,  said Pacific Coastal also offers charter flights from Vancouver and Calgary for $5,500, Edmonton for $7,500, and from Seattle for $9,000.Those prices reflect the rate for the entire aircraft.

The aircraft, a twin-engine, 19-passenger Beechcraft 1900, brought a small group of airline staff accompanied by a couple of reporters for Vancouver news media. Pilot Ryan Evans presented a model of the aircraft to Loni Parker before they were whisked off on a tour of RMR.

Ironically, while all of that was going on here at home, Mayor Mark McKee who was in Vancouver, spotted this ad outside Rogers Arena. Mark McKee photo
