1949 – 2017
Donald Cyril (Danny) Tomey passed away at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the age of 67 years. A Memorial Service will be held at the Malakwa Gospel Church on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 2 pm with Reverend Lawrence Rae officiating. Interment of Danny’s cremated remains will follow in the Malakwa Cemetery.
Danny was born in Salmon Arm, BC.,on July 21, 1949, and had been a resident of Malakwa for 11 years. Prior to that he resided in Revelstoke for over 25 years and will be well remembered as the owner/operator of DJ’s New & Used. Danny was a proud member of A/A and N/A for many years. He was a member of the Malakwa Community Association and on the board as well for three years. Danny also volunteered as caretaker at the Malakwa Gospel Church and was on the church board. He enjoyed beekeeping in his spare time.
Danny is survived by his wife Judy of Malakwa; two children: Chris (Cynthia) Tomey of Victoria and Dawna (Terry) Howe of Vancouver; five grandchildren: Calysta, Cybil, Charlize, Andrew and Stephanie; as well as several other family members.
