Friday, February 3, marks the seventh year of the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre’s major annual fundraising event: Anything Goes!
This event is highly anticipated each year by art patrons in Revelstoke and tickets are going fast.
As with previous years, artists will be producing their works using a 12 x 12 inch canvas. This year, artists have produced paintings, sculpture, jewellery, and fabric based works. A jury of art professionals will be awarding a ‘Best in Show’ title to one of the artworks. This special piece will be auctioned off live during the evening.
“It will be an exciting show, not to be missed,” says Victoria Strance, executive director of the Visual Arts Centre.
“This year, we are pleased to be hosting a raffle for two art supply gift baskets, donated generously by Your Office & Art Centre and by our members. Tickets will be only $2 each or 3 for $5.
“Look out for our Buy a Bulb Fundraiser! This $25 donation allows us to purchase a new LED bulb for the gallery. Help us go green and receive a tax donation receipt.”
In a statement, she also encouraged patrons at the show to try their hand at matching the artist’s name with the artwork for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate towards art classes.
Anything Goes Seven opens its doors with silent bidding commencing at 7 pm on February 3.
“We guarantee a night filled with amazing art, delicious nibbles catered by La Baguette, and perhaps even some bidding wars,” Victoria said.
Tickets for this event can be purchased for only $15 from the Visual Arts Centre or at the Art First Gallery on First Street West.
