Employers interested in applying for Canada Summer Jobs funding for 2017 now have until Friday, February 3, to get their applications in, says a statement from MP Wayne Stetski.
“Service Canada extended the deadline by two weeks to allow more employers the opportunity to submit an application for funding,” he said in a statement.
“In Kootenay–Columbia, Canada Summer Jobs 2017 will focus on applications that complement the following local priorities:
- Not for profit
- Art and Culture
- Municipal governments that provide summer programming
- Tourism
- Environment
- LGBT community
- Small Businesses of less than 20 full-time employees
- Local Food Initiatives
- Agriculture
Service Canada has prepared a pre-recorded presentation covering program eligibility, the application process, and tips for submitting a strong application (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfMoLhkgjU8&feature=youtu.be).
Applicants approved for funding will be able to hire students as early as April 2017.
