Mary Wolinski passed away at Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care, Revelstoke on Wednesday, December 21st, 2016, at the age of 90 years. There will be a graveside service in the spring of 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Revelstoke District Health Foundation for Mt. Cartier Court, P.O. Box 2421, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Mary.
Mary was born in Hankovce, Czechoslovakia on September 9, 1926, and had been a resident of Revelstoke for the past four years. Prior to that she lived in the Nelson/Salmo area for over 50 years. Mary loved gardening and flowers. She was an awesome cook and her specialties were perogies and halopchi.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Nick in 1994, sister Helen Grdic in 2009 and her parents, Mike and Anna Macko. She is survived by three sons: Bob (Eleanor) Wolinski of Maple Ridge, John (Gale) Wolinski of Sylvan Lake, Alberta and Jim Wolinski of Nelson; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; her brother John Macko of Revelstoke as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
