Here’s an odd — and disturbing — item from the police blotter

A 54-year-old man was arrested by RCMP after he charged a flag man and tried to drive through a section of the Trans-Canada at Three Valley Gap that was closed for avalanche control on Friday, December 30.

Cpl. Thomas Blakney said in a statement that emergency equipment were in operation at 9 am and “a grader and snow plow were used to contain the vehicle at which time the driver pulled mover and complied with the directions of the RCMP.” He was driving a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire.

The BC resident was arrested and is spending the weekend in jail. He’ll appear in Salmon Arm Provincial Court on January 3. He is charged with Flight from a Police Officer, Driving while Prohibited, Failing to Obey a Flagman, as well as two warrants for Failing to Comply with a Probation Order.
