Cheryl Fry receives a well-deserved award from the Canadian Cancer Society

Cheryl was awarded the Canadian Cancer Society’s Volunteer Leadership Award on Wednesday, November 16, for her 16 years of service as the society’s face in Revelstoke. In 2000 Cheryl became the coordinator of the Revelstoke Relay for Life event. “She also took the lead on the annual Daffodil Campaign in 2013 – as well as single handedly pulling together the new Slopes For Hope event hosted at RMR, which replaced the annual Relay For Life and it is now going into its third year,” said Jennifer Dies, the society’s coordinator for community giving. “We wanted to not only award and thank Cheryl for her dedication, but wanted to ensure it was done publicly, as she is stepping down from this role to take on other community endeavors. We’re incredibly grateful for the time and dedication she has devoted to the society, and acknowledge the large amount of people within the community that have benefited from her work.” David F.
