A 15-month-old girl was killed in the industrial area of the Big Eddy at 1 pm on Saturday, October 15, the RCMO said in a statement.
Police attended to a location in the industrial area of the Big Eddy where a deceased 15-month-old female was located with her parents,” Revelstoke detachment commander Staff Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky said in the statement. “The child was accidentally struck by a truck. Personnel from the BC Ambulance Service, Victim Services, general duty RCMP, RCMP Trans-Canada East Traffic Services and the RCMP Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstructionist Service were all in attendance.”
“Police have ruled out foul play,” Grabinsky said. “This has been determined to be a tragic incident.”
The British Columbia Coroner Service will be conducting the remainder of the investigation.
