No parade this Christmas — but don’t fret — there will be a 25-foot tree in Grizzly Plaza!

Shaun Aquiline explains what's going to happen at Grizzly Plaza this Christmas, now that it has been decided there will not be a Christmas Parade. Last year's parade was very lacklustre and many business have declined to participate in one this year. As Shaun put it to members of Flying Arrow Productions' Annual General Meeting last week, this year's celebration of Christmas on Saturday December 10 will be called Miracle on Mackenzie and will last from about 3 pm until about 5:15 pm. There will be a 25-foot tree, generously donated by the Revelstoke Credit Union, Mr and Mrs Santa Claus, the Community Choir, the Community Band, a performance by Joanne Stacey, Barry Ozero's team of horses and plenty of child actors in a Christmas-themed play. Mayor Mark McKee and Santa Claus will each give a speech starting at 5 and then the lights on the tree will come on. It should be quite a sight!. David F. Rooney photo
