Check this out… 2016-08-31The trail from behind the Railway Museum into Mt. Revelstoke National Park was paved last week as one of the Resort Municipality Initiative trail upgrade projects. It is a great improvement to what was a bumpy and pretty ugly surface, and makes the entrance to the park from town much more attractive. It is also a nice link with the Tournament of Champions Winners Circle, another RMI project completed a few years ago. The bottom third of the trail is on City land; the upper two-thirds is in the national park. Parks Canada paid for their portion, and RMI funds were used to pay for the bottom third on city land. This trail is very well used by tourists looking to walk into the park to see the Nels Nelson exhibit and to walk the lower elevation trails (5 km and 2 km), and by cyclists accessing the park and other trails. It will be more heavily used beginning in 2017 when the improvements to the old ski jump are officially unveiled as part of the Canada 150 celebrations. Photo courtesy of Alan Mason/City of Revelstoke
