Revelstoke singer-songwriter Nina Amelio is a semi-finalist in the Unsigned Only music contest’s Adult Contemporary and Electronic Dance Music categories with her new song, Savage Love.
The contest says it “levels the playing field” for independent and unsigned artists “because it excludes entries from anyone who is signed to a major label record deal, so you are not competing with well-known artists, Grammy winners, or artists with a major label machine behind them.”
That description certainly fits Nina who has been writing and singing for a number of years now looking for that big break.
“I am sooo excited to be in the semi-finals,” she tweeted to her many fans.
There are scores of semi-finalists from around the world. The Grand Prize winner takes home $20,000 (US), specialized software and has meetings with recording industry officials. There are also significant prizes for the top winners in each category.
Good luck, Nina, you deserve that big opportunity.
