Glacier Challenge weekend was a tad stormy

The annual Glacier Challenge Softball Tournament was held this weekend, bringing hundreds of visitors to town. Usually this BC Day long weekend is a brutally hot event. But it was marginally cooler this year as 70 teams came here from across BC and elsewhere. Saturday's storm brought torrential rains and pea-sized hail and, as you can see in this photo, there was a pretty threatening Sunday afternoon storm front, too. Volunteer Maggie Spizzirri said the weekend was proving to be an entertaining and trouble-free one for ball players and event organizers. David F. Rooney photo
