Forestry minister takes an adventurous plunge

By David F. Rooney

Local BC Liberals have been enjoying the recent attention of party leaders. Two weeks ago it was Premier Christy Clark; This past week it was Foerstry Minister Steve Thomson.

Thomson was in town to visit, along with Mayor Mark McKee and BC Liberal Candidate Doug Clovechok, the site at Greeley of Jason Roe’s Revelstoke Adventure Park, as well as take the plunge down Mount MacKenzie on RMR’s new Mountain Coaster and visit Downie Timber. (On a semi-related note, Premier Clark wants to go down the Coaster when she was here on July 143, but her handlers couldn’t make it fit into her already-tight schedule.)

He also attended a private dinner at Ray Redekopp’s Bison Lodge with local party heavyweights a cocktail party with other members of the community.

He said he was intrigued by Roe’s project which is still in the preliminary stages of its development. If you drop by the MacPherson Room at the Community Centre on Tuesday, July 26, you can find out more about the Adventure Park at an Open House that runs from 5:50 to 7:30 pm.

Here are a few photos from the minister’s visit:
