A gaping hole at Downie

BC Hydro has been busy lately burying its overhead cables at Downie. That’s meant closing that entrance to the mill forcing a couple of detours that have apparently mystified some drivers on Fourth Street East. The $1 million project should be completed soon. In the meantime, Mayor Mark McKee (second from the left) joined Hydro Community Liaison Jennifer Walker-Larsen (center) and Mill General Manager Alan Smyth (second from the right) with Ted Allain, Downie’s electrical projects’ manager, and Hydro project foreman Asa Lishman..
