A great week for rainbows — one was a double!

The weather may a little damp but that has its advantages in the form of some pretty spectacular rainbows.

First there was a double rainbow on Tuesday, then another perfect bow in the sky on Wednesday! Here are shots of these gorgeous phenomena:

Did you catch Tuesday evening’s gorgeous double rainbow? I saw it when I emerged from the Women’s Shelter Society AGM at the Community Centre at about 8 pm. Its colours were absolutely brilliant! I took this photo on my iPhone 6 and noticed a number of individuals downtown trying to snag their own cellphone photos. Please click on this image to see a larger version. David F. Rooney photo

Rainbows arched through the sky on Wednesday, too, as you can seen in this photo sent to The Current by a reader.

Sue Leach snapped this early evening rainbow on Wednesday. “I took pics of the double rainbow yesterday, too,” she told The Current. “I just thought it looked so special over Revelstoke.” Please click on the image to see a larger version. Sue Leach photo
