Batty housing developments in the Greenbelt

Thirteen new bat boxes have been installed at different locations in the Illecillewaet Greenbelt

“All 13 bat house are up,” said Greenbelt Society President Louisa Fleming. “Many thanks to Adam Croxall from BC Hydro and Kevin Weese and Wayne Martin — both directors of the board — for all their hard work. I got to stand around and supervise and take photos. Ha ha. They look great so hopefully the bats think so too.”

Last year the society responded to a plea from Biologist Mandy Kellner to help boost the number of bats in our region by building and installing more than a dozen bat houses.

The houses were constructed by Ken Talbot and Marc Paradis. Here are a few photos of the installation:
