RCMP bait sled and truck reel in a pair of thieves

On Easter morning, March 27, 2016 the Mounties’ bait sled and truck were reported stolen where they were deployed in Revelstoke.

Cpl. Thomas Blakney said police officers located the vehicle, executed a search warrant for the sled and several charges are pending against two men.

The video footage from the bait vehicle was reviewed and information on that video allowed the RCMP to arrest 30-year-old Revelstokian Ryan Hall,” Blakney said in a statement. “Mr. Hall was in custody awaiting a court outcome. A warrant exists for the second male, a 29-year-old Vincent Matthew Porteous of Peachland, BC. In addition, RCMP executed a search warrant on an enclosed snowmobile style trailer and recovered the Bait Snowmobile as well as additional snowmobiles of interest to police.

“Hall and Porteous are both charged with two counts of Theft of a Motor Vehicle Over $5,000 and two counts of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000 and Obstructing a Police Officer. In addition, Porteous is also wanted for Mischief to Property, Flight from Police and Driving while Suspended. He is described as a Caucasian male, 5’11, 140 lbs., blue eyes, brown hair and multiple tattoos on his right arm.

“Vincent Porteous is considered to be violent and dangerous and should not be approached.
