Are you registered? It’s just about time for the annual Grizzly Bear Fun Run, which is scheduled to start at Queen Elizabeth Park on Sunday, May 1, starting at 9:30 am.
The entry fee for the 5 Kilometre Fun Run, also available to those who just want to walk the course, is $10. The 12 Km Fun Run fee is $20.
Registration tables will be set up at 8:30 am.
You must complete and sign a waiver if you wish to participate as a walking participant. Download the waiver below and bring it with you to the fun run. Don’t worry if you forget, there’ll be lots of copies there to sign; so come to the park on Ninth Street East in front of RSS a little early to avoid the last minute rush. Water will be located at the registration tables and near the 6-km mark of the 12-km course.

First place finishers in six categories will win prizes. In the 12km race, there will be an overall winner for men and an overall winner for ladies. In the 5km race, there will be a winner for boys 12 and under and one for girls 12 and under, plus, there will be winners in categories for men and women, 13 and over.
The Revelstoke Credit Union’s race organizers have a couple of special requests.
“We respectfully request that no dogs be present during or after the run,” Organizer Jamie Hobgood said. “Also, as this event is meant to be enjoyed on foot, no bikes, skateboards, roller blades, et cetera, are allowed on the course. Strollers are permitted.
“Please also be respectful of the environment and do not litter along the race course. Refuse may be dropped at the water stations or at Queen Elizabeth Park.
