The Revelstoke Forum was full of smiles on January 30 as the Pre-Novice Hockey team hosted a successful tournament.

Teams from Golden, Sicamous and North Okanagan travelled to take part in the one-day event that saw each team play each other once. For many players this was their first hockey tournament ever and was a good chance to learn and enjoy the game.

Timbits and juice donated by Tim Hortons gave the 4-to-6 year-olds energy for their first games. The Revelstoke players showed great improvement in their skating skills from the start of the year (when some couldn’t skate at all!).

After the first games, teams enjoyed a snack generously donated by Coopers Foods. Between games there was time to check out the raffle table and check out the prizes donated by:

The teams were treated to a delicious pizza lunch provided by the Village Idiot, which gave the Revelstoke team fuel for their final 2 games of the day. Dennis Berarducci kept everyone excited with his announcing.

In addition to Hustle Awards that were given out after every game, at the end of the tournament all participants received medals and a mini-stick compliments of Tim Hortons. The sticks were immediately ripped from the packages and squeals of delight could be heard from the dressing rooms and hallways as the kids played.

A big thank you to all the sponsors for their generous donations, the arena staff for all their maintenance and cleaning, Dennis for the wonderful announcing and the parents and coaches who volunteered their time for the kids. Congratulations to the players for working hard and having fun!
