If they do you may want to register them in the upcoming Ballet Kelowna Masterclass, an open pre-professional ballet technique class taught by a former professional principal ballet dancer for both The National Ballet of Canada and Ballet BC  — AD/CEO Simone Orlando. Participating students will have an opportunity to do their ballet exercises alongside two professional dancers –— Desiree Bortolussi and Valentin Chou.

This remarkable event takes place at the Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday, March 2, from 5 until 6 pm and costs $25 per student. All students must be at least 11 years of age and will need a leotard, tights and soft ballet slippers.

The Okanagan Summer Dance Intensive Program will be held at will be held at Ballet Kelowna’s new studio at 2283 Leckie Road in Kelowna.

Opportunities leading on from this workshop include having a chance to apply for Ballet Kelowna’s Okanagan Summer Dance Intensive Program (two-week or three-week programs) that starts Monday, July 25, and concludes on Friday, August 12. Under the leadership of Artistic Director and CEO Simone Orlando, Ballet Kelowna’s OSDI offers ballet students the opportunity to learn from professional dancers and distinguished teachers.  Intermediate to advanced level students will enjoy extensive training in ballet, pointe, repertoire, modern, and contemporary.  For more information about OSDI please call 1-250-762-6105 or send an e-mail to osdi@balletkelowna.ca.
