Public urination and exposing himself nets a man a stay in the cells

Urinating in public and exposing himself to pedestrians on First Street West proved to be an effective way to get arrested and charged on Wednesday, December 30.

“Revelstoke RCMP were advised of a male urinating in public and then performing an indecent act by exposing himself and yelling obscene statements to people,” Staff Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky said in a statement. “The police located the suspect male while he was yelling at pedestrians on First Street.”

Grabinsky said the man “extremely intoxicated” and was arrested for Causing a Disturbance, Section 175(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, and for performing an Indecent Act, Section 173(1)(a) of the Criminal Code. He was jailed until he was able to care for himself and was released on a Promise to Appear in Provincial Court next month. He is also compelled to abide by several conditions including a no-go zone in downtown Revelstoke.
