Mandy Malinski is in the running for recognition as one of Canada’s top up-and-coming models. The tall and willowy 21-year-old is one of 15 semifinalists for the ELLE Canada Model Search.
“It’s still pretty surprising to be in this position,” she told The Revelstoke Current on Monday, January 11. She entered the contest on a whim and was then tapped to be a semifinalist.
Style Trend owner Diane Bull is an enthusiastic supporter of Mandy, who modeled for her this autumn, and said she was one of thousands of young women who entered the contest.
“There were over 5,700 entries and to make into the Top 5 she needs votes,” Diane said. “I think it might be a great little story as it would be amazing to see a young lady from our small town make it to the finals!”
A physically fit and health-conscious young woman Mandy loves snowboarding, works at both RMR and the Regent, and has been shot by local photographers Sarah Mickel and John Morrison.
“My siblings are pretty excited about this,” Mandy said, adding that this will be a surprise for her parents.
If you think this lovely young woman deserves a shot at becoming one of the country’s top new models you can click here to vote for her. But act fast! You have until January 15 to vote for your favourite model. You can vote more than once but only once a day. Finalists will be announced on January 18.
In late February or early March, the five finalists will be flown to Toronto for a live photo shoot at the Queen Street Saks Fifth Avenue. The photo shoot will be published in the 15th-anniversary issue of ELLE Canada coming out in May.
The winner will be announced on Instagram on March 28. In addition to appearing in the ELLE Canada anniversary issue, she will be profiled in an exclusive editorial feature on SaksPOV.com and may be managed by Chantale Nadeau Model Placement.
