CKCA offers free grant-writing workshops

The Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance (CKCA) is offering free workshops for people who want to learn how to apply for arts, culture and heritage grants.

The workshops are being run by Krista Patterson or Natasha Smith, who will

share with you how to apply and what to expect from the application process.

Individuals working in all artistic disciplines as well as arts, culture and heritage organizations residing in the Columbia Basin are invited to attend the workshops. The CKCA manages and ad ministers the Columbia Basin Trust’s arts, culture and heritage grants. This year $706,000 has been allocated to this sector by the CBT.

Workshops are FREE but pre-registration is required. Locations, dates and times are as follows:

Kaslo – Friday, Feb. 12, 1 – 3 pm, hosted by the N. Kootenay Lake Arts & Heritage Council at the Kaslo Seniors Hall, 4th Street (between Avenue A and Front Street);
Crescent Valley – Saturday, Feb. 13, 10 am – 12 noon, hosted by the Slocan Valley Comm. Arts Council at the Crescent Valley Hall, 1385 Highway 6, Crescent Valley;
Salmo – Friday, Feb. 19, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, hosted by the Salmo District Arts Council at the Salmo Youth & Community Centre, at 206 7th Street;
Fernie – Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1:30 – 3:30 pm, hosted by the Fernie & District Arts Council at The Arts Station, 601 1st Avenue;
Kimberley – Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2 – 4 pm, hosted by the Kimberley Arts Council at Centre 64, 64 Deer Park Avenue; and
Creston – Friday, Feb. 12, 10 am – 12 noon, hosted by the Creston Community Arts Council at the Creston Rec Centre (Rotacrest Hall) at 312 – 19 Avenue N.

There are also online workshops on Friday, February 19, from 2 until 4 pm and on Tuesday, February 23, from 6 until 8 pm.
