Sledders have found the body of a man on Boulder Mountain, RCMP Staff Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky said in the late afternoon of Thursday, December 10.
He said the body was found in “a rugged, remote area and radioed in the information.”
“Currently the Revelstoke RCMP, acting on behalf of the BC Coroner Service, are en-route with… Search and Rescue and the… Snowmobile Association to attend to the location where the male is reported to be,” Grabinsky said in a statement. “Police and the BC Coroner Service will recover the male and commence an investigation into the cause of death. The identity of the male is not confirmed at this time.”
Additional details will be posted on The Revekstoke Current as they become available.
SAR teams, assisted by Mounties and trained sledders have been searching Frisby Ridge and Boulder Mountain since Monday for 42-year-old Travis Allen Brown of Drayton Valley, Alberta. Brown disappeared while snowmobiling alone in that area on Saturday.
