Five visitors attacked, one stabbed in the back

Here’s a very unusual crime for Revelstoke: The RCMP is investigating a physical fight between two groups of people that resulted in one man being stabbed at the 7-11 in the early morning hours of Friday, December 4.
“At 2:41 am… a group of five male adults from Saskatchewan, here for snowmobiling, were attacked by approximately 12 adult males,” Cpl. Thomas Blakney said in a news statement.
The fight began in front of the Traverse Night Club on First Street West then moved to the parking lot at Lordco on Victoria Road before continuing to next door to the 7-11 on Victoria Road where the stabbing took place.
“During the altercation, a 36-year-old from Saskatchewan was stabbed in the back while his colleague, a 31-year-old, received a minor cut to his hand and face.”
The two men and their friends then took a cab to Queen Victoria Hospital while their attacker and his buddies dispersed.
The assailant responsible for the stabbing is described as a Caucasian man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with short hair and a goatee wearing a grey zip-up hoody and blue jeans.
Local Mounties are currently reviewing closed-circuit TV footage from various businesses hoping to spot the group of 12 men and the assailant. They do not know if they, too, were from out of town or if they were from Revelstoke, Blakney told The Current.
