Women Grow, a national professional network supporting female leaders and entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry, is holding its inaugural Kootenay Chapter Signature Networking Event on January 7 at the Hume Hotel in Nelson.
In a statement it said women (and men) in the cannabis industry or those interested in it are invited to connect with colleagues, explore professional opportunities, and learn from expert guest speakers, including:
Jim Leslie
Jim Leslie is a director of The Kootenay’s Medicine Tree who has committed himself to helping patients from all around BC acquire the best medical cannabis products and provides thoroughly informative consultations. He is dedicated to educating individuals on the wonders of medical cannabis and has been invited by local hospices and community groups to give presentations and host courses in medical cannabis properties and regulations.
Brynn Jones
Brynn Jones has been involved in the current cannabis industry since its formation about 10 years ago, as indications of open access began. He is the COO of J/W Mariceuticals, and subsidiary of Okanagan Green Hemp products – a company providing seeds, bottles of oil, oil capsules, and enhanced protein capsules.
The aim of Mr. Jones’ companies is to give the Canadian hemp industry the recognition and respect that has been forgotten through outdated prohibition laws and misconceptions. In addition to his work in the cannabis industry, Brynn is a firefighter, has 20 years in the compassion industry, 18 years in the entertainment industry, and holds a first-place award in the Yellowknife Public Speaking Forum.
Darrin Fiddler
Darrin Fiddler is the Chief Marketing Officer at J/W Mariceuticals and Okanagan Green Hemp Products, and he thrives on a world of self-improvement and education. He is active in social activism and made a couple attempts at local politics. He has helped run a business college, built homes, set up community computer labs for the local First Nations community, and managed restaurants. Life is an experience, and he gets in as much as you can. He is currently managing Bluetail Sushi & Bistro.
Events will be held the first Thursday of each month in different cities throughout the region, and members will have the opportunity to develop authentic relationships via personal contact and networking. While events are women-focused, the networking series attracts both men and women to connect. Women Grow Signature Networking Events occur the first Thursday of every month.
