Revelstoke has a new and long-eagerly anticipated restaurant — Kevin’s Kitchen — opened by Kevin Feng and his wife Lu Si.
Located at 302 First Street West, Kevin’s Kitchen opened on Monday, November 2 for the very first time. It is as much a shrine to Kevin and Lu’s faith in their family’s future in Revelstoke as it is a homage to Kevin’s love of simple, home-style Chinese food.
Flip through the menu and you’ll see that the fare they offer is very well priced — anywhere from $5 to $14 and quite straightforward. The menu has only 15 features that lean towards noodles, soups, pork and beef dumplings and a small selection of vegetable dishes with deliciously evocative names like Smashed Cucumber, and Spinach with Mung Bean Noodles.
Judging by the comments Kevin has made to me over the last year or so this restaurant is his dream-come-true and I think you’ll find it raises the bar for Chinese food in a very interesting way. I wish him all the success he and Lu deserve.
Kevin’s Kitchen does not have a website but it does have a Facebook page that, while it is obviously still under construction, has photos of many of the dishes on offer.
For more information please call the restaurant at 250-837-2818 or send Kevin and Lu an e-mail at kevinskitchen@hotmail.com or, even better, drop by and sample the menu. Your taste buds will thank you.
