Revelstoke student Daniel Blackie has taken several weeks out of his Grade 12 studies to travel to Tanzania to work at the Upendo Face Orphanage.
It’s a pretty inspiring journey he’s on right now.  For years he had always wanted to travel and help others.  This trip was largely organized by himself and he’s there working on his own accord.
Here’s his blog where you can read and comment on his posts and photos http://danielintanzania.blogspot.ca… and if you’re so inclined, he has a GoFundMe page where he hoped, ever-so-humbly, to raise $100 that he could use to help buy the orphans school supplies.
“It turns out that the orphanage is actually in great need of this money as they have run out of funds for building their dormitories. All donated money will go to this project as it is very important for the orphans well being” he says in a message to donors on his the gofundme.com page he set up for the Upendo Orphanage. “It will guarantee them food and shelter, as well as 24-hour support. Also many have long walks to get there, sometimes hours, so this will cut that out of their day.”
