Monday, November 23, marks the beginning of Revelstoke’s Welcome Week. This annual event features plenty of free activities that are open to everyone, but especially newcomers to our city. Pamphlets listing all the events as well as a straightforward map of the city’s core are available just about everywhere in town. Public transportation is free all week.
One of the highlights of the week occurs on Thursday, November 26, with the Volunteer Fair featuring the Spirit of Revelstoke Awards and the always-delicious Community Dinner at the Community Centre from 4 pm until 7 pm. It doesn’t matter if you’re here to live and work on a permanent basis or if you’re just here to enjoy the skiing. If you’d like give something back to the community the Volunteer Fair will have something to interest you. And, of course, you can meet locals and visitors alike at the Community Dinner. The dinner is not free but at $5/plate it’s a real bargain.
Everything comes to a head next week with Revelstoke Mountain Resort’s opening on Saturday, November 28.
