Michael David (Mike) Camara passed away in the Palliative Care Unit of Queen Victoria Hospital Revelstoke on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the age of 42 years. A Funeral Service will be held at the Revelstoke Community Centre on Monday morning, September 14, 2015, at 11 am with Mr. Gary Sulz officiating. Pallbearers will be Marc Chabot, Calvin Kohurt, Leonard Bedard, George Amaral, Nelson Mendonca and Troy Thibert. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 202 – 1835 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 3H5, in memory of Mike.
Mike was born in Revelstoke, BC, on November 1, 1972, and had been a resident of Revelstoke for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, baseball, playing his guitar, and was also an avid Canucks fan.
Mike was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his spouse Reneé Astra of Revelstoke; three children: Devin, Landon and Gavin, all of Revelstoke; brother Mark (Tanya) Camara of Calgary; sister Rosemary (Kevin) Keates of Victoria; mother Gabriela Camara of Salmon Arm; nephews Burkley and Cameron of Calgary; niece Cora of Victoria; aunt Aurora Armas of Salmon Arm; parents-in-law Joan and Olympe Astra of Revelstoke as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.
