The phrase “the cream rises to the top” may be a saying as old as the hills but it remains a valid one in the wake of last weekend’s Little Bear Soccer Tournament.
Sixty- teams from communities across BC and Alberta came to Revelstoke to vie for supremacy on the soccer field.
Here are the winners, listed in order of gold, silver and bronze:
U11 girls: Shuswap, Kootenay East, Revelstoke;
U12 girls: Shuswap, Kootenay East, Kootenay South;
U13/14 girls: Williams Lake, Shuswap, Canmore;
U14/15 girls: Calgary Villains, Kootenay South, Columbia Valley;
U16 girls: Calgary Blizzard, Nelson, Calgary Azzurri;
U17/18 girls: Calgary Wolves, Kootenay South, Columbia Valley;
U11 boys: Shuswap, Canmore, Nelson;
U12 boys: Canmore, Revelstoke, Canmore;
U13/14 boys: Revelstoke, Kootenay South, Nelson;
U14/15 boys: Nelson, Nelson, Airdrie; and
U17/18 boys: Williams Lake, Vernon, Columbia Valley.
