Geoff Battersby (let) was recognized by the BC Interior Forestry Museum and Discovery Centre as this year's Community Pioneer Logger. Museum Chairman Brian Sumner said Battersby deserved the award for his work to establish the Community Forestry Corporation. A retired physician and former mayor Battersby is widely regarded as a model citizen because of that as well as work with the Community Energy Corporation, the Community Foundation and other organizations.
