Attention writers! You don't want to miss this…

Attention writers! Revelstoke Library is hosting a writing workshop and discussion facilitated by Nelson author Deryn Collier on Tuesday, October 20, from 3:30 until 5 pm.
A statement from the library said this interactive workshop will review the basics of good storytelling for writers working in any genre. Participants will discover ideas and inspiration they can apply to their own works in progress. Writers of all abilities are welcome to attend.
Deryn Collier is the author of Confined Space and Open Secret, two mystery novels featuring Coroner Bern Fortin, set in the fictional town of Kootenay Landing. Quill and Quire magazine called Open Secret “a novel that satisfies as a mystery but also stands as something richer and more complex.”
Collier was raised in Montreal, graduated from McGill University and now lives in Nelson with her family. Confined Space was shortlisted for the Arthur Ellis Award for the best first crime novel by the Crime Writers of Canada.
The discussion and workshop are free and open to writers of all abilities, working in any genre, or those just thinking of starting on a project. Participants may bring writing materials if they wish, but an open mind and a few ideas are all that is required.
This event is sponsored by the Columbia Basin Trust and the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance. For more information please contact Community Librarian Kendra Runnalls at 250-837-5095.
