This Saturday, August 15, is Family Day at the Railway Museum, which is offering tours, children’s activities and a chance to see the latest additions to the Model Railway Club’s enormous layout.
From 10 am until 3 pm the museum is wide open for families to enjoy. You can enjoy coffee and a goodie in the Business Car, browse through exhibits like the Chinese Legacies: Building the Canadian Pacific Railway display; try your hand at driving the locomotive simulator; and explore the rolling stock.
The kids will surely enjoy making crafts and taking part in a scavenger hunt. There’s also a special booth sponsored by A&W with games and giveaways in support of Operation Lifesaver, the national campaign to change people’s behavior around railroad tracks and crossings.
Admission is by donation.
