Local woman injured in TCH accident

A 54-year-old local woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash at the Enchanted Forest/Sky Trek turnoff from the Trans-Canada Highway 30 kilometres west of town on Tuesday, August 11.
The woman was not identified in a statement from the RCMP, but Cpl. Thomas Blakney said she was airlifted to hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The woman was a passenger in a Jeep Cherokee that rear-ended a westbound car from Alberta that was making a left-hand turn into the Enchanted Forest at about 9 am. The occupants of the vehicle from Alberta were not injured nor was anyone else in the Jeep hurt during the mishap.
Police, Revelstoke Fire Rescue Service firefighters and BC Ambulance Service paramedics all responded to the incident.
Blakney said the highway was closed until 12:35 pm.
