Mayor Mark McKee and members of Revelstoke’s City Council heard a report from Environmental Coordinator Penny Page-Brittin regarding the City’s Climate Action Revenue Incentive Program and a request from Revelstoke Sand & Gravel to develop another gravel pit on Westside Road.
Gravel mining has been a contentious issue in the city since the development of the Interoute pit in 2010 with many people in the north end of the city complaining about the pit’s impact on housing prices and human health.
